ARBA'EEN WALK
n Shia Islam, Arba’een marks forty days after Ashura, which is the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussain, grandson of prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HF) and the third Shia Imam.
It also marks family of Imam Hussain’s arrival back in Karbala after captivity in Damascus by the cursed Yazid.
An estimated 20+ million people visit the shrine of Imam Hussain every year on Arba’een.
The10thDay initiated Manchester Arba’een Walk eight uears ago with a small group of people. The walk has now grown and become an event people look forward to attend.
Here are some pictures and videos from previous years.
Please register to attend so we anticipate the number of people and we can cater for you better.
